The items below originate from the 1880’s when the Williamson Company toured a production in Australia.
All items are from the Williamson Collection held by the National Library of Australia.Their use for performance must therefore be
credited to that body.
The orchestration for Charity Begins at Home comprises of Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Horn 1 & 2, Cornet 1 & 2, Trombone, Percussion and Strings.
Although present in the libretto and vocal score, the band parts omit No’s 5 & 6 - presumably these were cut to reduce the piece
to an acceptable length as a curtain raiser to longer shows. No:9
has been removed from the vocal score and is marked as stolen.
The relevant pages have been supplied from an alternative source.
